Lesson Plan Title: I’m a Little Fishy
Age Group: Toddlers/Pre-school (2-4 years old).
Amount of time for the entire lesson:

The topic is “fish in the sea”. The concept is that there are lots of fish in the sea, some big and some small.
(specific, observable and measurable) The students will be able to…
• Listen to the read aloud of Blue Sea by Robert Kalan while seated quietly
• Paint fish in the ocean with their hands or provided materials
• Dance and sing along to “I’m a Little Fishy”
Developmental Domains Addressed:
Cognitive (Listening/understanding the story) – The children will have the opportunity to gain cognitive skills as they listen to Blue Sea by Robert Kalan being read aloud.
Fine Motor (Painting) – The children will have the opportunity to practice fine motor skills as they will grip a paint brush and paint their sheets of paper as well as using their hands and fingers to create fishes.
Gross Motor (Dancing and singing) – The children will have the opportunity to practice gross motor skills by using their bodies to dance along to the song and their voices to sing along to the song.
Multiple Intelligences Addressed:
(at least one) Music and Movement (Let’s dance and sing together) – The children will be able to learn through music and movement by participating in the dance and sing along.
Creative Expression (Let’s create together) – The children will be able to learn through creative expression by participating in the painting activity.
