Students visited the pumpkin patch and each received a pumpkin to take home. We painted the pumpkins and completed the attached worksheet. I printed a picture of the painted pumpkin, students drew a picture of their pumpkin, and students had to think of WHY they wanted to paint a pumpkin a certain way and describe their idea in writing. For example, one student said I painted my pumpkin like this because "I like angry birds." (He painted it like a red angry bird.) Another student said because "It had lots of color."
