These two worksheets were created to give students hands-on experience in locating and understanding examples of imagery in poetry and drama. Using two descriptive passages from a Shakespearean play, students highlight or underline examples of descriptive language appealing to the senses of sight, sound, smell, taste and touch. Teachers may choose to have students discuss the images they have selected and/or to apply their knowledge with additional assignments, described in the accompanying teacher's notes.
