This PowerPoint/Imaginative Narrative will inject some holiday spirit into your December lesson plans. It would be a great way to kick off December or to use right before your Winter Break! I like to have my students read them aloud the day before break.
This powerpoint models the entire writing process from brainstorming to final copy and beyond! The students are presented with 3 holiday related prompts to choose from!
Common Core Standard Correlation: 5.W.3. Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, well-chosen details, and well-structured event sequences.
Models and maps are included. For the model throughout the PowerPoint, I used an alternate holiday prompt that the students may not choose. This is done on purpose so that the students will not copy the teacher’s example when they get started on their own.
This PowerPoint is intended to take approximately 5 days (that includes teaching and student independent working time).
