Students will learn about the immigration and immigration ships or liners during the late 1800s and early 1900s. This webquest uses a great website created by the Smithsonian. The website allows students to explore the history of Atlantic and Pacific Immigration. The website does a great job of covering Asian immigration to Hawaii and the United States during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Check out the website at:

The webquest contains 35 questions and is a great way for students to learn more about the following topics:
• European Immigration
• Atlantic Immigration Ships
• Asian Immigration
• Pacific Immigration Ships
• Immigration and Development of the Sugar Industry on Hawaii
• Chinese Exclusion Act and Immigration Paperwork
An answer sheet is included for the teacher. The webquest takes most students 25 to 45 minutes to complete depending on the age of your students. The website links along with a QR Code are included. Feel free to modify this activity if needed to fit the needs of your students. I highly suggest this webquest for students in grades 6-12.
