PBS's "Forgotten Ellis Island "is a haunting look into a forgotten aspect of Ellis Island and how immigrants struggled to make it to a better life. I have used this in my upper level AP and Regents US History courses. This activity engages students to actively watch the documentary by answering questions in a fill-in-the blank handout and they will then use the answers to write a reflection on how did the Ellis Island Hospital represent America’s conflicted beliefs about immigration? You can view the documentary by clicking on the embedded video clip in the PowerPoint (via YouTube). Thank you for shopping, enjoy!
