Your students will learn about what a diplomat does at a foreign embassy. They will use their knowledge and critical thinking to look at six immigrant cases. They will have to decide which immigrants can come to the United States with either an immigrant visa or non-immigrant visa. They will need to use clues from the case study to support their reasoning.
As an extension activity, students can read the Emergency Press Release and make decisions about what information different agencies need in the State Department.
This activity supports Social Studies and ELA standards. This is in powerpoint format. Please contact me if you have any questions! Enjoy!
