Visual Thinking Strategies help students see works of art/photographs in a deep and meaningful way. Visual Thinking Strategies promote “critical thinking.” This PowerPoint portrays immigration experiences. The teacher will be the facilitator and the students will think through each “piece” to understand the “feelings,” “tone,” and deeper understanding of what “immigration” is.
There are three basic questions for teachers to ask students as they “observe” each picture:
1. What is going on in this picture?
2. What do you see that makes you say that?
3. What more can we find?
