A worksheet to check for understanding after a lesson on Immigration.
Designed to meet the needs of all students, those who struggle with written output, and those who work well independently. It may seem simple, but it allows for unpacking of a few topics: for example, I imagine many students would not think that you can walk from one country to another, but this would allow you to discuss countries where it is illegal for people to leave, or there are war and corruption (i.e. Eritrea) and people have to flee on foot as refugees. The raft is also one that I doubt the students will choose, but recent stories of people fleeing to Europe from Syria are important to discuss.
My opening lesson includes discussion on what immigration means as well as the reasons for it, but the unpacking of the second page will come after they have completed the sheet.
