This activity helps students visualize and write Spanish sentences that begin with the imperfect progressive and are interrupted by an action in the preterite tense.
Each group of two students gets two sets of cards. One set has a number and a sentence starter, such as "8. Yo estaba ___________ (caminar) con las muletas…"
The other set has letters and interrupting actions, such as "b) cuando __________ (tropezarse) con una piedra. "
Students also have a sheet with six spaces to write their sentences (with verbs conjugated correctly) and illustrate them. This fun and helpful activity works well as an in-class activity, a station activity, or as homework.
An answer key is included, and you can easily go over all of the answers for the sentence starters and the interrupting actions right in class. This works well with any unit on the imperfect progressive tense, such as the Realidades 5B chapter for level 2. Have fun!
