This is a bundle of a Power Point and a Document-based Question handout with a lesson plan on Korea during the colonial period. This lesson has also been featured on the Korea Society's educational sources website (www.koreasociety.org)
The Power Point carries 22 slides, featuring maps, images, text for notes and primary/secondary sources.
The Document-based Question handout has 10 documents, including maps, images, charts, and primary and secondary source information. There is also an answer key, plus additional discussion details for the instructor to use at discretion.
This lesson will complement high school students' study of 19th and 20th century Imperialism for Global History. I have used this lesson for five years now; it has provided another insight to the theme of Imperialism away from European and American Imperialism examples. My students really engage this lesson effectively and have used this example thoroughly on previous New York State Regents examinations in Global History and Geography.
