This power point introduces US Imperialism from 1890-1909. The topics covered include but are not limited to: the Spanish-American War, Annexation of Hawaii, Rough Riders, White Man's Burden, Open Door Policy, Boxer Rebellion, Theodore Roosevelt, Panama Canal, and the Roosevelt Corollary.
The first three slides are images that I have the students describe and try to identify. Based on what they see, they make guesses as to what the upcoming unit will be about. There are appropriate images, maps, political cartoons, and recap questions in the slides. It is a "brief" 70 slide presentation because students have many activities and projects to complete during this unit, some of which are listed below.
***there is pertinent information in the presenter's notes of the power point, please make sure you look at them***
