This introductory workshop is designed to provide school leadership with a framework for implementing a project-based learning initiative. Classroom teachers who participate will be able to articulate the benefits of PBL and reflect on the challenges that need to be overcome. Attendees can move at their own pace and will be empowered to create a roadmap for their school, complete with success measures, to higher student achievement.
By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
• explain the benefits of project based learning.
• express desired outcomes for a PBL initiative.
• design a framework for a PBL initiative that shows evidence of deep learning.
Enrollment in this workshop is rolling and free for a limited time. Participants will need a free Edmodo account to register and take the course when it is launched on November 1. All work must be completed by November 30th to receive a certificate of completion. Participants should check with their school licensure specialist or state licensing agency about applying these hours of professional development for the purposes of licensure renewal.
