This template is for students to create a brochure for parents about the importance of reading
. Students research from four (4) provided websites that focus on statistics and facts proving the success of reading. You are encouraged to put them in groups of 4 for the preparation of the brochure.
Here's why this activity is great!
- It's a back to school activity
that requires students to collaborate with others.
- Through their research, the students learn
why it's important to read.
- The brochure can be given to parents at Back to School Night / Open House
and shows the parents what their kids can do on the computers! I bet they'll read it more closely since their child's name is on it!
Another aspect of this is that you can just use the template for yourself
if you don't feel like doing it as a student activity. Use the sites provided to make the brochure.
- Four (4) Google Slides with the brochure template, one in color
, one in black and white
- Clip art
to add to the pages.
- Detailed directions
for students (or you).
