Lesson Overview:

(Part 1) Students will read a secondary source about why the study of the Roman Empire is important. They will answer comprehension questions based on the source. (Part 2) Students will read from a secondary source about some important locations in the Roman Empire and will identify these locations on a map provided.

1. Lesson plan complete with objectives, big ideas and essential questions as well as extension activities.

2. Student worksheet: Students will analyze a secondary source on why the Roman Empire is important. Students will answer five comprehension questions based on the reading.
