Many times, students read nonfiction text and don’t always know how to differentiate the important information from the interesting and fun facts thrown into the story. This product is an extension to helping students practice after learning about important vs. interesting information in a text.
The Five Nonfiction Topics Available:
• Save the Rainforest
• Terracotta Army
• History of Ice Cream
• Mailman Appreciation
This product is designed to meet the needs of several students. With each of the 5 passages, there are differentiated versions to be completed. Each passage has the following formats:
• Multiple Choice
• Written Answer (open-ended format)
• Cut and Paste Sort
While these passages are researched before being written, please
note that the sole purpose for this product is to provide students with additional practice in identifying important vs. interesting information. It is not recommended that this product be used to initially teach any of the topics covered in the passages.
Thank you again for your purchase and I hope you and your students find this activity engaging and worthwhile. Please rate and comment on this product with praise and/or suggestions at my store on Teachers pay Teachers. Enjoy!
