This innovative lesson will make the global economy come to life! In this lesson you will find a homework assignment, instructions for the gallery walk, a hand out for the students to complete while on the gallery walk and a research extension activity based on what they have learned.
The idea is that the students will accumulate data on goods imported into the United States and on the goods produced in the United States. The teacher will then present the students' own data to them in a gallery walk, and the students will come to their own conclusions about how the global economy works. Follow it up with a riveting class discussion which will engage the students' higher-order thinking skills.
