Do your students need help learning about improper fractions? Then this is the activity for you.
Improper fractions can be quite tedious until kids learn to look how to reduce the fraction.
There are 9 different improper fraction sets with 4 cards for each set. Also included are the pizza slices (halves, thirds, fourths, and eighths) so that students can use them as manipulatives to figure out the problem.
The activity can be used in several different ways. It could be used as a mini-lesson and then put in a center for additional practice. Students can use this as an individual activity or work with a partner to place the cards with the correct number action card. It can also be used as an assessment. The cards could be used during small group instruction or as a warm-up activity. To make the game more fun, both students could have a set of the cards and race to see who could match up the cards the quickest.
