Everyone loves improvisation. Improv games are all about quick thinking, creativity, and teamwork. This packet includes a set of 40 character cards. These cards can be used for a variety of exercises and games such as Party Guest and Job Interview.
This packet is designed to be printed onto 4 Avery 5163 Mailing Label sheets. Ten cards per page. Print the pages onto the label sheets, peel one label, stick label onto 3x5 index card. Ta Da! You have a set of 40 improvisation character cards!
Party Guest: The Party Host is giving a party. On the way to mail his/her invitations, a gust of wind blew the invites away. The Party Host has no idea who will finally receive an invitation to the party. He/She will just have to wait and see who shows up! Select one student to be the party host. Give all other students a character card. One student at a time will knock on the door and be invited inside. Students are to act as their character would act and say the types of things the character would say. The Party Host has to figure out who this strange person is by asking questions. For example: Snow White is asked "Where did you find my invitation?" She answers, "Well, I was cleaning out Sneezy's knapsnack... he always has so many dirty tissues in his sack... and there it was. I don't get out of the forest much, so I decided to risk being caught by the wicked queen and come."
If the host does not correctly guess after 3 questions, an additional party guest may knock on the door. Now the host has two guests to deal with.
Job Interview: Distribute the character cards to the class. All of these characters are currently unemployed. They are all at the Acme Employment Agency to find a new job. Students are to be "in character" for this game. Have them fill out the included job application form. Ask them questions such as "Tell me about your last job?" or "When you are in your new job, you will have to solve a lot of problems. What problems have you solve in your other job?"
