Product Description
Annotating a text is a time-honored skill. Not only is annotation a vital aspect of active and close reading, it’s an important part of prewriting. This approach encourages students to bridge the stages of reading and reviewing a text with writing and uses… clear goals and expectations, a student checklist, and the curious and memorable acronym “SADRAT.” Plenty of student examples are given (I developed this while we read Anne Frank's Diary of a Young Girl), along with additional worksheets geared to help students understand how characterization and theme can be inferred from readings.
