Product Description

In this investigation students will observe the practical use of the impulse-momentum theorem. Students will use the spring-loaded dynamics carts to first launch off a force probe and second bounce off the force probe. Students will learn to use Vernier's software to integrate under the force-time curve to find impulse and compare that to the momentum of the moving dynamics cart before and after both elastic and inelastic collisions.

Materials needed: dynamics carts, photo-gates or motion sensors to measure velocity changes, force probes to measure collision force and time.
