This is a brief worksheet requiring students to read and discuss Lt. Col. John McCrae's Poem, "In Flanders Fields." This version of the worksheet references Remembrance Day, a holiday observed in many nations to honor those who have died in service to their nation.

This worksheet prompts students to read and discuss the poem. Whether this is done as a whole class or in small groups is left to the discretion of the teacher. The students are then asked six questions about their interpretation of the poem.
I tried to include a variety of thinking levels along Bloom's Taxonomy. I feel like it would work for a language arts class or a history class.
I originally designed this for my own fourth-grade students, but I decided the content of the poem was too "heavy" for a 10-year-old. I would recommend this to middle or high school students.
An answer key is included.
