Product Description
We get better at doing something by practicing a little bit every day. “In The Write Direction” writing prompts help writers to practice writing a little bit every day, including interesting leads! Give them practice in hooking and reeling in their audience!

In The Write Direction Daily Writing Kit gives your students an opportunity to write - everyday. This kit focuses on crafting interesting leads to hook a reader into a story. The prompts give students the characters, setting and plot to consider and then write a lead for the beginning of a story. The kit includes prompts for dialogue, action, foreshadowing and sound effect leads.

Each prompt type includes a full color mini-poster, a writer’s notebook insert and 10 prompts.

Each 5” x 2” black and white prompt is set up 8 to a single sheet for easy printing. If you would rather have your students copy the prompt from your interactive white board then you can use the included larger format .PDF prompts.

The kit is organized into sections according to lead type: dialogue, action, foreshadowing and sound effect. Both the small and large prompt files are organized in the same order to make correlating them simple.

The 10 dialogue lead prompts focus on writing leads that use dialogue.

The 10 action lead prompts focus on writing leads that begin with action or an exciting event.

The 10 foreshadowing lead prompts focus on writing leads that use a small portion of an important event that occurs later in the story.

The 10 sound effect lead prompts focus on writing leads that uses a sound to capture an event.
