Reading and analyzing non-fiction news articles is an important skill for learners of all ages. I developed this simple form to help students organize their thoughts and synthesize the information they gather from reading news articles. These work well with any news articles, including those from magazines such as Time for Kids. Also, there are some great child-friendly news articles available for free at http://www.educationworld.com/a_lesson/newsforyou/newsforyou117.shtml. This is a Word document, so it can be modified to fit the needs of your classroom.
