Many of my students with autism and severe emotional disabilities often need visual reminders and supports of the rules that should be followed within our classroom. They need to be able to see exactly what they are and are not allowed to do with regards to their behavior. All of my students display problematic behaviors that go beyond simply calling out or skipping ahead in the lunch line. On a daily basis, I face behaviors such as spitting and hitting and hair pulling. In order to address my students' needs, I have created twenty (20) full-sized (8.5 x 11) behavior posters that serve as perfect reminders to help disengage students from participating in inappropriate behaviors. These posters are perfect for students with autism, emotional disabilities, and even ESL learners.
This bundle includes 20 colored posters, each featuring a different inappropriate behavior often displayed by children with autism or emotional disabilities. I have used Boardmaker picture symbols with these posters, as many students with autism are very familiar with these symbols. Each Boardmaker symbol serves as a simple representation of each behavior, which makes it easy for ESL learners to understand the rules of the classroom.
Behaviors included in the bundle are:
Spitting, Touching (2), Grabbing, Hitting, Poking, Splashing, Head-Butting, Hair-Pulling, Cursing, Pinching, Licking, Biting, Screaming, Stomping, Banging, Scratching, Cheating, Pushing, and Kicking
