Independent Book Report
Product Description
This product is one of my favorite assignments to send home with students. Students are always excited to create something and share it with their classmates, but sometimes it is a lot of extra work for teachers to coordinate these projects.

This independent book report provides students with a simple 3 step list of instructions for completing their project. For Step 1, each student will be asked to select a new book and read it. Next, they will choose a project from the list of potential projects (each includes directions) in Step 2. Step 3 is where students reflect on what they have read and created to make a few simple notecards that will be used in their presentation.

Some examples of the projects include: creating a Soda Bottle Character, making a Shoe Box Scene, drawing a Comic Strip, or writing a Letter to the Author.

I sent this same assignment home for fall break, winter break, and spring break, and did not receive a single complaint from a student or parent. Upon returning from break, I had students excited to share the books they read with their classmates and teacher.
