Use this cut and paste hexagon puzzle to add some variety to your lessons!
Students will calculate the probability of independent and dependent events. The focus is on learning about compound events. Specifically, students will examine the difference between independent events (with replacement) and dependent events (without replacement). Twenty-three problems are incorporated into the puzzle. All questions involve selecting various colors of marbles from a jar either with or without replacement. If desired, you may give students marbles (or colored slips of paper) to use and have them act out the problems to develop a clearer understanding of probability. An outline for showing work is included along with the puzzle.
