This is a 30 page powerpoint lesson that walks students through the process of determining the independent and dependent variable from a given research question. The slides take your students through each step as the slide show progresses covering what independent and dependent variables are, how to identify them and how they are used to write a hypothesis statement.
In addition to the powerpoint presentation, a "walk-through" notes guide is included to aid students in the process. The walk-through guide includes each research question and prompts to identify the factors involved, the independent and dependent variable as well as prompts for writing a hypothesis statement.
