I make copies of these on card stock so students can keep them during Reader's Workshop. When it is Independent Practice time they can choose or I will assign them one of the activities on the card. These are all activities that I have taught through the 21 days to mastery. They have seen it in modeled, interactive, shared, and guided practice. Now they should be able to do these things independently. When they complete their activity they post it on the designated bulletin board. This way they have accountability and I can see who is done, who is on task and who needs help still. I have cards made for September, October, November, and January (I didn't do December because it is a short month with holidays). I am planning to create the later months next year.
