Product Description

Independent reading accountability can be tricky, since you want your students to fall in love with reading and NOT feel like you are breathing down their necks.

Check in with your student readers with this fun and quick activity. Have them create hashtags to describe the action in their books, then share one of those hashtags and the meaning behind it with partners, small groups, or the whole class as you listen in, mentally taking note of kids who may be struggling with their books.

This is a brand new product for me, so if you and your students enjoy it, please consider leaving a review! Your review helps other teachers find this activity AND earns you credit towards future TPT purchases (yay!).

This activity is also part of my full independent reading program, a solid, year-long solution to the "I hate reading" problem. I think you're going to love it!
