The worksheet, handout, and PowerPoint presentation are fully customizable so you can specify how much you want students to read outside of class, customize relevant dates, and add your own reading goal examples. if you wish The lesson begins with a Do Now of timed reading, guides students through setting individual goals, and ends with a turn and talk brainstorm about how students can reach their goals. This chunk of the lesson will take approximately one hour of class time. Additionally, students use the reflection form throughout the term to track their progress, and their bookmarks serve as constant reminders of their goals.
