I wanted to allow my students the ability to read interrupted, but also a way for them to process and hold their thinking. I created this reading journal as a way for them to walk through the levels of thinking and have control over their grade. The deeper the thinking, the better the grade. I'm making this editable and free for a short time on TpT. Please let me know what you think! I gave students bookmarks with Jim Burke's independent reading reflection question/stems (from his book Reading Reminders) for reflection.
