About this Resource

This is a DIGITAL Independent Reading Notebook. It is meant to be used in the Google
Slides format. It covers all the Grade 4 Common Core Standards for Reading Literature
Informational Texts. This notebook includes a task for each of the standards. There is a table of contents from which the students choose the task that is assigned. The table of contents
has links to take the student directly to the task.

There is one task for each of the standards for Reading Literature and Reading Informational
Texts. This can be used in a center, with the whole class, or independently. I have used this
Notebook along with my use of the American Reading IRLA and it has been a great resource for me for our Independent reading time! I recommend copying this document to your
Google Drive and then create a separate file for each student in your class. Place a copy of this into each student’s file and then share the file with them through Google Drive. This way you will be able to view their work and even comment on it as needed! I find it to be more useful doing it this way rather than assigning it in Google Classroom.

In order for the students to complete this notebook, the students must work on this
in the edit mode of slides, NOT the presentation mode. In presentation mode they will not be able to write/type on the slides. This can be worked on in the edit mode by increasing the
slide size to 100%. When using the links, teach the students to click on the tab on the table of contents they need to work on and the link will show up below the box. They just need to click on that for the link to take them to where they need to go for that day!
