The independent reading project is designed as a year long reading project for students in grades 9-12 to introduce students to a wide variety of world literature.
Each quarter, students will choose one novel to read from four areas of the world: Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia (one novel per quarter). Every quarter, students will focus on a different area of the world through reading and analyzing a novel from that particular area.
Each quarter, the students will complete a double entry journal, literary analysis essay, and multimedia presentation about the author, novel, and geographical area.
