Finally, a way to make independent reading a significant instructional experience! In this fifth part of a series, students grow in their understanding of fiction as they record the different roles and significance that primary, secondary, and tertiary characters have in their independent reading. After completing the notes, students write a reflection explaining their observations. This series can also be used in whole class and small group novel studies. This product includes a table students to use while reading, instructions for writing the reflection, and a grading rubric for streamlined assessment.
