PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

In this two part independent project, students will investigate animal adaptations of the prehistoric time and use their knowledge to create their own animal.

Part One: Students research a prehistoric animal of their choice to find out its physical traits, how it survives, and how it has adapted to its environment. Students will choose from three different ways to present their findings: Powerpoint slideshow, newspaper article, or informational mini-book. Rubrics and directions for each product are included.

Part Two: Students will create their own prehistoric animal that could have survived during that time. Students will draw and label the animal, design a model of the animal, and create a pamphlet informing others of physical characteristics of that creature and explaining how it survives in its environment.
