Are your 4th-6th grade students struggling to differentiate between the independent and dependent variables in science experiments? This station-to-station activity provides an easy way for you to offer practice. Students identify the independent, dependent or control variable at a station. The answer directs them to the next station. It's self-correcting -- if they answer all 10 questions correctly, they will circle back to their first station. If they reach their starting point without hitting all of the stations, they'll need to find their mistake and fix it!
Print and go! Just hang up the stations around the room and copy a recording sheet for each student or group. Students can start at any station to control traffic flow. Answer key provided.
