Celebrate Diwali, or India’s Festival of Lights!
Includes a full lesson with easy instructions for teachers to follow, as well as a craft making authentic clay oil lamps!
Typically, this product has been taught to younger children, but older children will love this as well, especially as a fun craft supplement to Indian or Hinduism studies in middle and high school.
Materials for the craft include air-dry clay (a 5 lb. tub will make approx. 20 clay oil lamps), acrylic paints (I just get the tiny bottles from Michael's when they are 40% off; a little goes a long way), and Mod Podge to seal (optional; you can buy small bottles at Dollar Tree and will likely only need 2 bottles for 20 students). Paints are applied using moistened cotton balls and q-tips, both from the Dollar Tree.
