Indiana Nine "in Bundle" Activities
I'm done with the South, New England, and nearly done with the Mid-West states of the United States, then I can move on the Southwest, West and northwest sections – it is taking so lo-o-o-o-ong.
I never seem to know where inspiration is going to come and in my case, people gave up years ago trying to figure me out. My inspiration comes from my background, genealogy research, college classes, my obsessive reading, my obsessive internet work, my medical disability, my own class teaching spanning world history to American history to Louisiana history to my love of Texas history, my love of the history channel, my memories of my own history classes in junior/high school, my own history professors in college, my degrees in college – art, history, technology, journalism – you sort of get the picture. I'm just looney to say the very least.
After a teacher requested more beginning of year simple activities, my "Louisiana" brain went to work coming up with items I had done over the years for my own classrooms in Louisiana, American, and World History. None of them where 'fantastic' items but they did get me through those opening days of paperwork, checking roll, the endless announcements, forms, counts, etc., etc., etc. Over the years I came up with lots of things that just made my early history days go a bit smoother. Now I am getting to do these items for other teachers around the country that need the same type of 'tricks'.
I recently had a 3rd grade Louisiana teacher request items to help her own teaching of history which includes a section of Louisiana at the end of each chapter. I have created many items for my own grand-daughter last year when she was in 3rd. Looks like I'm starting again.
Today she sent me an email telling me I should create something for 3rd and 8th grade and sell it ----- has she looked at my webpage???? There are TONS of material at www.louisiana101.com – world, American and Louisiana PLUS my site on TPT and others.
But 50 states worth of these ideas seems like a lot of work and with each one being tweaked for teachers in that state. Each one takes about 3-4 hours to creating and spell checking before I can post them.
These are not expensive items but can be a real lifesaver to anyone that needs it. So, here is one of those time-killers as needed from MrE's History Emporium of TPT fame.
By the way this idea was requested by a first year teacher and as a new teacher we all know what this means on the first day/days of school. I've been there, done that…several times at several different schools.
As a Louisiana teacher, I can and will help anyone who just asks. Part of that is built into my DNA after years of have student teachers in and out of my classrooms. There are many teachers who have helped me and it's only fair that I 'pay it forward' as long as God lets me.
You can use these for the Beginning-Of-School, Back-2-School, End-Of-School, Anywhere you want to use them and Anywhere you need them. This item includes a word search, maze, Pass It On list, magazine cover artwork projects, word scramble, ABC worksheet and other activities. Each state may contain something different.
