    Answering Questions - 4.RL.2.1

    Six passages, each differentiated for three levels, tell the entire first chapter of The Wind in the Willows. Students learn to construct thorough responses using text evidence.

    Summarizing - 4.RL.2.2

    Students identify elements of five fables, list them on organizers, and summarize. Two formats provide process differentiation.

    Three assessments may be used at the beginning, middle, and end of the year - or whenever. Each includes a passage and two formats - a shorter test with four short and three constructed responses) and a longer test with one short and six constructed responses).
