NO PREP, PRINT AND GO Close Reading passages that focus on Indiana and the Civil War - now you can teach Social Studies during Reading!
In this bundle, there are 6 passages that have questions to go with each passage. Two of the passages are 2 pages and the rest are one page passages. There are also short essays modeled after past ISTEP essays that students can write based on some of the passages. I have incorporated Reading Acuity 2 and 3 type questions into the activities so students become familiar with the format. There are also paper and pencil versions of the "technology enhanced" questions that were on Acuity and will be on ISTEP.
These are great for homework, Guided Reading, whole group instruction, small pull out/push in groups, or sub plans. This bundle truly gets many birds with one stone.
The passage titles are:
How Indiana Assisted in the Civil War, pg. 3 – 7
Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War, pg. 8 – 11
The 28th Regiment Indiana Infantry, pg. 12 – 16
Women and the Civil War, pg. 17 – 21
Morgan’s Raid, pg. 22 - 27
Who was Levi Coffin?, pg. 28 – 33
You will also get 4 graphic organizers and a close reading text coding page to help your students remember how keep track of their thinking while they read.
I have also included full page answer keys. :)
