Indigenous Artist Painting Project

This simple painting lesson uses Leah Dorian's book The Giving Tree: A Retelling of a Métis Traditional Story and can easily connect to your Social Studies teachings about the Métis people of Canada. Students create a painting based on the style and theme of the book.

This inspiring product includes:

• a complete lesson plan with step-by-step instructions with modifications to differentiate for your students (or your available supplies).
• photographs of student examples.
• instructions to minimize prep work and clean up.
