Product Description

Grade 9-12: In this assignment, students will be assigned one research topic relating to historical and contemporary Indigenous issues, cultures, and perspectives. There are over 40 topics, so you can avoid any duplication of topics by assigning one topic per student, and there is room for students to identify other areas of interest for their research as well.

Students will produce a formal, polished research essay after they work through the research process. They will then use their research findings to prepare a 5-8 minute teaching seminar (in the TED Talk style) so that all of their classmates may benefit from the information they have learned.

All assessment criteria is clearly laid out for you; however, the resource is editable should you need to customize it for your class.

I hope your students will enjoy conducting and sharing this research!
