Do you assess your students with the DRA or running record, but you aren't sure what to do once you are finished? All you know is you have an accuracy rate. I know that is how I used to be before I became trained in Reading Recovery. I had no idea what to do next! This document will allow you to take the next step. You can not only look at the accuracy rate and the level, but actually look at the students' reading behaviors and decide what next steps to take with the student and how they are actually changing over time. You simply list the book title, and check which behaviors you notice that they have displayed during the running record. You then know what reading behaviors need to be taught and which they have mastered. I have found that it really does help to teach a strategic process. Hope it helps you, too.
