This download consists of free sample pages for the Australia, Britain, Canada, and New Zealand versions of Individualized Sightwords.
Individualized Sightwords lets you teach four or five children in a group, but each child studies just the words s/he hasn’t learned. Because it can be used every school day with no teacher/para prep, it is perfect for Special Ed and Title One. Students can be different ages or ability levels and when one child has mastered the words, s/he can exit the group and be replaced seemlessly.
Teachers use sightword checklists which are frequency ordered, so kids learn the most frequently used words first. Both Fry and Dolch checklists are included as well as a complete checklist containing all 400 words.
A You-tube video at http://youtu.be/TwflCUnlhyU explains how the program works and shows a group of kids being taught to use the program. The first instructor has used the program for a couple of years. The second is a neighbor who volunteered to watch and try using it.
