A social studies project where students will research and investigate various entrepreneurs from the Industrial Era or Gilded Age to determine whether they were Robber Barons or Captains of Industry. Through this student centered project, students will practice research skills and then using that information to make their own determination of an essential question, "Were the biggest entrepreneurs of the late 19th and early 20th century robber barons or captains of industry?" Students will work in groups to do the research and making a poster to present their findings. Takes approximately three days to complete the project. Great for middle school students but can be easily adapted to high school or even elementary school.
