An important part of Industrial Revolution is obtaining natural resources in order to make a product in a factory. First, students will complete the Map of America using the instructions on the student worksheet. Students will discover how America’s geography lends to plentiful natural resources. Second, students go on a scavenger hunt for information. Students get excited when investigating which resources are a strength or a weakness. The lesson allows students to see a big picture whereby 1st world nations who go through Industrial Revolution most likely maintain a fair amount of raw materials. A Teacher Guide is included to encourage classroom discussion.
