Included in the following are 3 separate application activities to be used with your students to reinforce, review, and hammer home the Industrial Revolution.
The first included activity is a "Brochure Activity" in which students are asked to "create" a brochure to inform the reader about Industrial Revolution (Where and Why it began, Life, Factory System, Inventions/Inventors, and a political cartoon.
The second included activity is two-parts. The first is asking students to "create" a front page to a newspaper which includes four articles about the Industrial Revolution and a map.
The third included activity is a "Letter to your Cousin" in which you need to convince them not to come to the city to get a job in the factories by explaining what your life is like working in a factory, what your home life is like (where you live and conditions), and lastly by detailing life overall living in the city.
I use these activities at various points throughout my teaching of the Industrial Revolution. They can be used as in class assignments and for homework. All three pair well with my Industrial Revolution PPT and Inventors and Inventions Chart (which I have available in my store for download).
