In this activity, students will use step-by-step directions and printed clip art to demonstrate the development of cities during the industrial revolution. This activity was developed for special education students, so it uses simplified directions.
When I used this in my class, I printed out the clip art (the last slide of the PPT) and had the students pre-cut all of the images they would need. Then, they got a 17 x 22 piece of paper (or two 8.5 x11 pages taped together) to build their city. Includes an example city development map.
At the end of the activity, there is a 5 question fill in the blank review of the key ideas addressed in the activity.
