In this highly-engaging lesson, students rotate to different stations in the room where they read about one of the major inventions/achievements of the Industrial Revolution. Then, a PowerPoint presentation reviews each invention. Too, each invention (in the presentation) is accompanied with a video to show how it works!
At each station, students fill out the invention, the larger field that was impacted (Science, Communication, Food Production, etc.), a summary of the product, rank the importance of the invention, and an explanation of why it was ranked where it was.
The inventions that are detailed are:
The Steam Engine
Once all 5 have been discussed, review the PowerPoint presentation to ensure everyone is on the same page. Then, show the included videos for each invention to show students how it works and the history behind it all!
This resource includes a paper in-class version and a 1:1 Google compatible version to be used in conjunction with Google Classroom.
